Because everyone knows the Oregon cohorts are better...

I flew to Kansas this past weekend for Capstone. Emporia is a tiny city. The campus was pretty, but I do have a love of big, brick buildings and fall foliage, being a Central New Yorker by birth. (I attached a picture to this post, or you can look at it and another on my profile page) The weather was much nicer than Portland's, too - in the sixties and mostly sunny! As an unexpected bonus, the rental car had satellite radio, which made the drive from Wichita to Emporia much more fun.

The students I met were nice - mostly Kansans(?), but there were a couple people from Colorado, and one from Utah, so I wasn't the only foreigner. Hopefully, I did okay on my portfolio...

As some of you know, I was pretty irritated that we weren't told until late October that it was only one day - long after I had bought my ticket and hotel reservations. So, I spent a bunch of time watching Dr. Who on the laptop, visited the hot tub a couple of times, surfed the net... It was nice to take some down time, but I would have rather been at Orycon.

Still, it was kinda cool to see the campus. And get an ESU sweatshirt, since I was there...

Wow, so the school really does exist. I'm glad we finally have some confirmation on this other than Perri's word.
